Short version: PromptHike stores your API key locally on your device. It never sends your key or prompts to any server we operate. All API calls go directly from your browser to the AI provider you choose.
PromptHike collects no personal data. Specifically:
When you enter an API key (Anthropic, OpenRouter, Groq, or Gemini), it is stored exclusively in chrome.storage.local — a sandboxed storage area on your own device. This means:
When you click optimize, the text of your prompt is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider's API (e.g. api.anthropic.com, api.groq.com). This request goes point-to-point — it does not pass through any PromptHike server. The prompt text is subject to the privacy policy of whichever provider you use.

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
